How it works
- We average the Epley and Brzycki formulas, which agree closely up to about 10 reps.
- Sets of 3 to 8 reps give the most reliable estimate; very high reps overestimate.
- MyoStats estimates your 1RM from every set you log and charts it over time.
Questions
How accurate is a 1RM calculator?
Within about 5% for sets of 2 to 10 reps for most lifters. Technique, fatigue and the lift itself all shift it.
What percentage of my 1RM should I train at?
Strength work mostly sits at 75 to 90%, muscle building at 65 to 80%, and higher-rep work below that.
